Keith Parascandola, President - Keith is a 25-year-old lifelong Staten Islander who currently resides in Westerleigh.  Keith is employed as Chief of Staff for NYS Assemblymember Matthew Titone and is a member of the Democratic County Committee, Staten Island Democratic Association, and Anthony Gaeta Democratic Club.  Keith graduated from The College of Staten Island with a double major in Political Science and History.  In his spare time Keith enjoys reading, traveling and playing music.

Daniel Lavelle, Vice President - Daniel is a 31-year old native Staten Islander from West Brighton. He is the Manager of the Citywide Call Center for the NYC Board of Elections. He is a shop steward for CWA 1183. He has been a member of YDRC for 13 years and has been a member of this Board for a number of years and he holds an at-large position on the executive board of the Democratic County Committee of Richmond. He also belongs to SIDA and the Gaeta Democratic club. Danny and his wife Stefanie have a beautiful daughter Julia and are expecting a child this summer. 

Amy Rice, Secretary - Amy, a 26-year-old, third-generation native Staten Islander from New Brighton, joined the Young Democrats of Richmond County in June 2006. A graduate of Curtis High School, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Seton Hall University. She is currently a clerk for the NYC Board of Elections and co-chair of the Women’s Committee of the Young Democrats. Amy is engaged to John F. Lavelle, with a wedding planned for mid-August this year. She enjoys spending time with John, his sons, her family and friends; photography and graphic design; working on political campaigns; traveling; and watching the New York Yankees, New York Giants and New Jersey Devils.

Fatma Kokon, Treasurer - Fatma Kokon is a 22-year old recent graduate of NYIT. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and works in the International Department of a major cosmetics company. She enjoys cheering on the New York Yankees and following her recent travels, she has fell in love with Paris and Germany.

Thomas Payero, Rules Counsel - Thomas is a 18 year old freshmen at St. John's University. He is the former Political Advancement Chair. He has been working on political campaigns since he was fourteen years old. When not arguing with friends about issues local and national, he enjoys playing baseball, bowling, and watching the best team in the world, The METS!!!!

Michael Schnall, Immediate Past President - Mike, a 32-year old graduate of Brooklyn Law School and Binghamton University, works in NYC government and is an adjunct professor of Political Science at Pace University in Manhattan. Mike is the owner of Empire Graphics, a graphic design firm serving small businesses, organizations and political candidates. Married to Lee Tennenbaum, they have a home in Tompkinsville. Mike enjoys spending his free time with his daughter Lucy Bennett, gardening, doing home improvement and cheering for the Mets.

Craig Schlanger - Craig is a 28-year old lifelong South Shore resident.  He graduated SUNY Stony Brook in 2000 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  Craig, was a candidate for 51st District in the New York City Council in 2005. He currently works as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator.  Craig is affiliated with the Staten Island Democratic Association, and the Democratic Committee of Richmond County.

Julienne Verdi - Julienne is a 20 year old junior at CUNY Hunter College. She is in the Thomas Hunter Honors Program, majoring in Political Science with a minor in English. Julienne is the Chair of the Youth Committee of the Democratic Committee of Richmond County and the founder of the Women's Committee of the Young Democrats. Over the Fall 2007 semester, she interned in Washington D.C. with the Office of Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney. Julienne is currently employed as a consultant for NY Choice PAC, and often works as a consultant for political campaigns. Julienne is passionate about politics and reproductive justice. In her spare time, Julienne enjoys writing, visiting her family in Italy, and cheering on her favorite teams, the Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees.

Phillip Maravolo, - Philip is a 28-year old native Staten Islander who currently works for Assemblyman Michael Cusick.  He is also a member of Democratic County Committee, where he recently stepped down as one of the youngest district leaders in NY State.  Philip  has worked on many campaigns on all levels of government.  When not working on a campaign or attending events for Assemblyman Cusick, he enjoys golfing, playing cards, darts, or catching up with friends.

Jason Ascher, - Jason is a 2002 graduate of the University at Buffalo with a degree in political science. Since 2002 he has traveled the country working on various campaigns ranging from Congressional and Presidential campaigns, as well as State Party operations. He has had the opportunity to work in Kansas, Brooklyn and Buffalo NY, New Mexico, and New Hampshire. He is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants, DemocraticGAIN, and the Democratic Leadership Council. In his free time he is an avid fan of college and professional sports; including the Mets, Knicks, Giants, Ranger, and the University at Buffalo Football and Men's Basketball teams.
